STATEMENT
The persistence of life on earth relies on a dynamic equilibrium of elemental forces, finely tuned over billions of years and immensely complex in design. Its resilience to changing environmental conditions is a matter of timescales: the rate of recalibration mirrors the longevity of its formation. Natural climatic variability is compatible with the system that supports life as we know it; anthropogenic change is not.
